Are Drugs Making Gout Worse of Better?

(EMAILWIRE.COM, September 16, 2011 ) New York, NY -- Gout is a very common condition that people have suffered from for thousands of years. Medicinal advances have identified how to prevent and treat gout, helping tens of thousands of people become free of the disease within just months. However, new research shows that these practices may not as permanent as was originally believed.

Most gout sufferers are never completely relieved of the condition. Although the pain might subside temporarily, in over 90% of cases the pain returns later with a vengeance. If the proper measures were not taken to reduce the formation of uric acid crystals in the body, the use of drugs and other therapies are only a temporary way to fix the problem. In other words, it is just a band-aid to cover up what is the actual problem.

So what about that last 10 percent of people? If they donÂ’t have the pain come back from the gout, what did they do differently than the rest of the gout sufferers? As it turns out, these are the sufferers who took matters into their own hands. While some of them received aid from a doctor, most of them are people who used natural methods from home to cure themselves of the ailment. They all have their different reasons. For example, several people decided to avoid the doctor because they did not want to spend high medical bills. Others had distrust for modern medicine and wanted to use natural methods instead.

According to these people, one of the most powerful methods that they used to cure themselves was a low purine diet for gout. They would generally try to make their diet less acidic by eating more fruits and vegetables. Gout diets also should be low in the amount of breads, pastas, meats, and dairy that is consumed on a daily basis. Because eating these foods increase the acidity of the blood, they claimed that they were able to very quickly heal themselves of gout. In addition to eating more fruits and vegetables, it has been shown that drinking cherry juice for gout can have positive effects as well.

In addition to a uric acid diet, there are several other natural measures to consider trying. For example, many people claimed that exercise is very beneficial for removing gout. Because exercise stimulates blood flow and the movement of nutrients throughout the body, it allows the body to quickly break down the uric acid crystals that have formed in the joints. Getting more sleep each night allows the body to rest adequately. As the body rests it is able to divert energy to heal itself instead of doing other activities. According to http://www.thegoutremedies.com/, there are also several other methods to consider involving certain foods and simply drinking plenty of water every day.
