AML Communications, Inc. (AMLJ), a designer, manufacturer and marketer of amplifiers and integrated assemblies for the defense industry, on the first of October announced it has received a pre-production order in the amount of $220,000 for microwave amplifiers to be deployed in in Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, also known as UAVs. Specifically, the AML amplifiers will be deployed in the STARLite™ Synthetic Aperture Radar, part of Northrop Grumman’s Extended Range/Multiple Purpose Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Program. Earlier this year, AML successfully delivered developmental units for this program.
“The UAV market represents a growth opportunity for AML. A few months ago we announced a $2.2 million order for products deployed in another UAV Program. These orders bode well for our long-term strategy to deliver microwave solutions to the UAV marketplace. Pentagon reports indicate that unmanned aircraft such as Predators, Global Hawks, Shadows and Ravens fill important military needs, and are forecasted to be a critical part of our nation’s military strategy for the foreseeable future,” said Jacob Inbar, AML’s President and CEO.
In the last trading session, the stock closed at $1.00. The company hit $1.08 on over three times the average trading volume.
Aeolus Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (AOLS) announced yesterday the presentation of data at the 55th Annual Meeting of the Radiation Research Society detailing the effectiveness of AEOL 10150 as a countermeasure to radiation exposure in the lungs in mice. Data presented were from a study led by Zeljko Vujaskovic, M.D. Ph.D. of Duke University Medical Center, and showed that the compound demonstrated statistically significant increase in survival, protection against radiation induced body weight loss; normalization of wet lung weight increase and reduction of radiation-induced inflammation by removing free radicals and regulating HIF-1a signalling.
In the last trading session, the stock closed at $0.39. The company reached $0.47 on well above average trading volume.
