(I-Canada-News.Com, August 21, 2012 ) Toronto, Ontario -- As part of its ongoing commitment to customer service, Snider Homes, custom home builders and general contractors, recently discussed home renovation as a six step process.
A spokesperson at Snider explained that it is their experience that prior to embarking on a renovation – especially a large or complicated renovation; homeowners do a fair amount of research both on and off the internet. “It’s our experience that most homeowners do their homework before committing to a renovation,” he said. “After all, it is a major household expense; will disrupt the household significantly while it is taking place, and will impact the lives of the homeowners for better or worse for possibly generations to come. “ He added, “I don’t want to be dramatic, but finding a good partner for a home renovation is almost like finding a good partner for a marriage – it can make or break your happiness.” Company president, Sandy Snider outlines Snider’s Six Steps for shepherding the homeowner through the renovation process:
Step 1: Home Renovation - Information Gathering
The first step consists of Sandy visiting the potential client and discussing the “dream.” The visit carries no obligation and is a simple, stress-free gathering of ideas, information, thoughts and getting to know the client.
Step 2: Home Renovation - Consultation
The second step, should the home owner elect to proceed, concretizes the ideas of the first step. Sandy uses his 40+ years of design, project management and construction experiences to distill a preliminary design and detailed quote. He also provides a list of references in your area; people who have worked with Snider Homes, who would be pleased to show you Snider’s work.
Step 3: Follow up
Snider Homes and the homeowner then proceed to the third step. Once plans have been concretized on paper, it is often part of the creative process that new ideas will occur. This is the point they are incorporated into the overall design. It is also at this step that Sandy and the homeowner either visit suppliers and showrooms in the GTA – or Sandy brings samples of materials to the home owners’ location.
Step 4: Hire Snider as Your General Contractor
Once the homeowner is ready to move forward, a contract is drafted including a guaranteed start-date and expected date of completion. A deposit is required and milestone payments arranged.
Step 5: Working Through the Project
Materials are ordered, arrangements are made to gain access to the home for work to be completed. (Snider Homes is fully insured and bonded, although they have never had a claim in their entire history, dating back to 1919.) Work is project managed by Sandy, his son Zack and the company foreman who ensure that the project is moving forward in a timely and accurate manner.
Step 6 – Home Renovation - Job Completion
Sandy notes that the company relies first and foremost on happy customers to spread the word about Snider’s superior work. The job is never considered completed until the homeowner is completely satisfied.
